Unexpected, Pleasant Blogging Surprise!

This Lemonade Award is quite new to me, but when I went to check out sweet Adair's latest blog, I saw she had given one to me!  How fun!  Adair is a fab sorority sister and beautiful person on the inside AND out.  By following her blog, I've been able to keep up with her fun times and also her times of trial in trying to add a "new addition" to her cute little family.  I hope God blesses them soon!

Fabulously Crazy Week

So our great but crazy week started Monday.  With only $1000 left to pay on student loans before we are debt free (minus the house mortgage), the idea of a new vehicle went up.

Keith's sweet parents have been on the lookout for great deals, and found a fabulous vehicle for an equally fabulous price.  Before making an offer, Keith, Knox and I went to test drive a similar one at a local dealership.  Long story short, we made an offer on the one we test drove and dealer wouldn't come down $1500 so we said no thanks, and I next thing I know I'm in TN and the proud new owner of a 2007 Chevy Tahoe!!!  :)  I even got to see my sweet grandmother and aunt while here, since Knox and I stayed an extra night so we wouldn't feel so rushed.

Now, on our way home, we are meeting Brother and Lindsey in Birmingham so that they can ride with us in the new Tahoe, to help keep Knox happy and Mommy sane.  If only I could fall asleep now, and get some good shut eye...oh well.  Friday Ma Jack & Big Daddy will be join us (after us kids hit the GA Aquarium) for a fun filled weekend of cooking out and a trip to the ATL zoo!

In other crazy news, while we've been here in TN, we've come to realize that Knox is growing way too fast (like we didn't already know!)  We put him to sleep in his pack n play Grammy has for him here, and we woke up to find him on the BIG BED next to the pack n play, playing and gibbering to himself!!!  I tried to put him down for a nap today, and as soon as I closed the door, THUNK, there went Knox overboard since I pulled the pack n play away from the bed!  So my inability to fall asleep has a little to do with the munchin asleep on my leg, that has regularly sat straight up in attempts to get comfy himself, and the three glasses of a Pulaski delicacy, Sundrop, I consumed before bed.

Oh and please keep Grammy in your thoughts and prayers--she's having outpatient surgery on her hand tomorrow.  Hope she makes a speedy recovery, so she can give Knox sweet lovings next time we see her!

Wonderful Friday Surprise

I had a wonderful surprise this morning.  As I was getting Knox and myself ready to walk out the door at 7:30am for his second round flu shot, I received a text message.  The text was from one of my college best friends, and freshman year roommate, Ingrid, of who(m) I have mentioned in a previous post.  (The genius who informed me that expired coupons were still accepted at most stores!)  She asked if I wanted company, and if so, to call.  Well, I couldn't dial quick enough!  She came over with her two youngest children.  The oldest, Noah, is already in kindergarten.  I can't believe he's that big!!!

It was a crazy fun!  The kids were everywhere, but playing together.  Knox loved being around both Eli and Libby.  On top of that craziness, I was putting up groceries (from a last minute trip to Publix as we were out for Knox's shot) AND talking to Ingrid.  We had a fabulous lunch of Scooby Doo mac & cheese (50¢ Kraft boxes at Publix!) with a side of applesauce (also on sale at Pubix!)  We even served it out of the pot!  I love that Ingrid and I go back to the days of college microwave meals made in our dorm room.  She also knows that I'm not the best housekeeper, and a baby just adds to the mess I already make.  I only had to apologize once, for the lack of clean house.  Picked up, but not clean.  Anywho, the kids decided to make a quick venture outside, in between rain showers.  No real mud puddles to deal with, so we let them run loose.  Below are the few pictures I managed to snap between pots of macaroni and diaper changes!  I loved getting to see our kids run around together!  I also can't get over how much Eli looks like Scott, and Libby definitely has her Mommy's pretty eyes!

Random side note--Tiffany and Baby Norah are doing wonderfully.  The Daily family should be back at home tomorrow.  I'll post pictures of the happy new family over the weekend!

Fabulous Surprise from a Fabulous Husband

After my last blog of not acknowledging our 2nd of any year wedding anniversary, the hubs got a wild hair and planned an amazing night out for just the two of us (the last time he did something so romantic was when he proposed!).  Apparently, I did so well in budgeting for groceries and working my coupon mojo, we had extra money after paying a third of Keith's credit card bill.  That money was used without my knowledge, but the results make me not care what it was used for!

I was sent an email at 7am on Friday, telling me to wear my "sexiest dinner attire" and to have Knox's dinner ready for the babysitter by 6:15pm--and that's all I needed to know.  I didn't even know who the babysitter was!  And those that know Keith and I well, also know that we are horrible at keeping surprises from each other.  Despite our past history, he stuck to his guns and spilled NO beans, what-so-ever!  It really got me excited for the evening--I started getting pretty at 3:00pm!  Once Keith got home from work he still wouldn't say a word, but I threatened life on who was keeping Knox.  Turns out, my ATL BFF, Holly, had offered her services earlier that week to keep the wild man.  She brought her son, Willem, who is only two months older than Knox, and her two daughters, Haiden, 12, and Tylar, 8.  Knox hasn't been around Will since May--turns out he LOVES Will.  He actually hugged him and just couldn't get close enough to him.  It actually resembled a WWF Smackdown, and Will didn't love it as much as Knox did.  He'll learn to  be gentle--eventually.

So on with the mystery date.  I asked questions thinking I could pull the twenty questions game out on him, but I only got about 2 questions out of him.  The directions were in Suzy Satelite and Keith passed this place twice.  I saw the name of this place on Suzy once we passed it, seeing that the place we were going to was Two Urban Licks--I was like were in the world is he taking me?!   Totally freaked me out.  He figured it out and next thing we know we were having our car valet parked and walking into this amazing, tall ceiling, open warehouse restaurant with amazing decor.  We asked for a table outside, but in this warehouse type restaurant, everything is outside when it's large garage doors are wide open during this amazing time of year.  As we were being seated, a hostess put flowers on our table.  I was like that's sweet, but was kind of weirded out by what flowers they were.  Any time Keith has ever gotten my flowers, they have been the most beautiful.  Now, not to sound like a flower snob, but these were RED CARNATIONS, with BABY'S BREATH and a PINK bow.  Not Keith at all.  I very politely told him thank you for the flowers and he harshly whispered back, "I didn't order those type of flowers--I ordered roses!"  THANK GOODNESS!  I was just glad that he made the extra effort to make me feel special!  Anywho, we had an amazing dinner with an amazing view, and before dessert a man came by the table telling us that we had the wrong flowers and brought a vase with three roses (for the three years together) that was the correct arrangement.  Now no need for Keith to make phone calls and take names! :)

Like I said before, the main reason for the dinner, other than celebrating our married life together, was celebrating how well we've done at sticking to our budget. I told Keith that we needed more us time, which he agreed, so I think if we continue to do well with the budget, we plan on doing one really nice dinner a month--without the wild man.  Plus, I think he (Knox)  enjoyed the night away from us, playing with kids his own age!
